TIPS FOR STAYING BODY POSITIVE IN LOCKDOWN

So, if you’re struggling to stay body positive at the moment, without abandoning social media altogether, Madigan has these tips for you.

  1. Show your body some Gratitude: Being grateful for what your body does for you, especially right now during lockdown, is extremely important. We need to be grateful for how our bodies enable us to move, to train, to hug the people closest to us and to honour our loved ones. We need to show gratitude for being healthy and happy.
  2. Give yourself a break: Relaxation techniques like meditation, yoga, going for a daily walk, relaxing in a bath and so on, can do you the world of good and set your priorities straight. If you’re sat around worrying everyday about how you look then your you energy is being wasted. Channel it into something you’d be proud about, maybe start a new hobby or try a new challenge. We, hopefully, will never experience a lockdown quite like this in the future so use the time to your advantage. Rest if and when you need to, be active when you can and set yourself a daily task or routine to support your mindset.
  3. Try to stop comparing your body against other people’s: You will never have another persons body but you can work on yours to build a strong, healthy frame that will allow you to live a long and healthy life with the people closest to you. And most of all be thankful for it.
